Trip to Wayanad

A representative from Iris Holidays will meet you in Bengaluru. It’s a 5 hour drive to Wayanad and we’ll start our journey early  in the morning. On reaching Wayanad, you’ll be welcomed with intense green mountains and tea gardens on either side of the road. Once  you check in to the hotel relax for some time, and visit Wayanad’s caves.

Within Edakkal Caves lie the secrets of ancient humans inhabiting them at different times in history. It’s easy to get lost in the beauty of the small rivulets, streams, and waterfalls which give you company all the way. You’ll visit Pookot, lake, Lakkidi – the gateway of Wayanad and journey through the bends of Thamarassery Ghat pass. The Thamarassery Ghat Pass connects Kozhikode and Wayanad and is among the most famous mountain passes in the Western Ghats. This will be followed by overnight stay at the heritage homestay

Wayanad Sightseeing

Have breakfast at your leisure and leave for Wayanad sightseeing at tourist attractions in Wayanad like Soochipara Waterfalls, Jain Temple, Kuruva Island,  Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary etc. Start the day by trekking to Chembra Peak located 2,100 meters above sea level. On reaching atop the Chembra Peak, you’ll see a heart shaped lake. On the trek, you’ll catch spectacular views of Neelimala view point and Vaduvanchal which are also popular trekking spots. Among other tourist attractions in Wayanad are Edakkel Caves, Jain Temple, Kuruva Island, Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, and Soochipara Waterfalls. After the thrill-filled day, your driver will take you back to the homestay for an overnight stay.

Departure

Check out from the hotel the next morning and depart towards Bangaluru. En route, you can stop at Pazhassiraja Museum & Art Gallery that has displays of ancient megalithic relics, coins, murals as well as paintings. The trip ends with us dropping you at Bangaluru.
