Kerala has earned a justifiable reputation as a little piece of heaven or, ‘God’s own country’. Lazy backwaters wind their way amongst lush valleys, with verdant hills rising up, dotted with tea, coffee and spice plantations all interwoven with plunging waterfalls and peaceful lakes.
The temperate climate makes the landscape accessible on foot or you can cycle or horse ride, the choice is yours. Spend time in the beautiful hill station of Munnar, take to the water boating at Thekkady and enjoy backwaters on a traditional houseboat before your tour winds up on the coast at Kovalam, a truly unique fusion of everything that is so perfect about Kerala.
Additional Inclusions
Our tour representative will greet you on arrival at either the airport or the railway station in Kochi. Your chauffeur will drive you to Munnar which takes around four hours. There is no rush. Break your journey and linger awhile at the picturesque waterfalls, Kerala is famed for its abundant water which is what supports this verdant and lush green landscape.
The Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls are a popular stopping point to pause and take in the beautiful surroundings, maybe capture a picture or two. Your driver will also stop at the Elephant Training Centre in Kodanad where you can watch the elephants taking their daily bath or take a ride on one on a short Elephant Safari. You will arrive at your resort in Munnar for the evening.
The beauty of Munnar was not lost on the British during the days of the Raj. They created this haven in the hills as a station for relaxation, attracted by the temperate climate and the beautiful scenery. The name, Munnar, is derived from the confluence of three streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale. For water lovers, there are plenty of opportunities to boat, either cruising on the peaceful lakes or why not enjoy the exhilaration of rafting in this mountainous and hilly terrain, ideal for the more adventurous. Picnic by the lakeside at Mattupetty or climb to top station and the famous Echo Point, who could resist the sound of their voice reverberating around the valleys. Too much like hard work? Relax in the cool tea gardens at the bottom of the slopes and visit the famous Tea Museum and of course, take tea.
Leaving Munnar, you will head to Thekkady and to the enticing Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, an opportunity to see the exotic animals and birds for which this part of India is famous. Spread over nearly 800 sq km, lose yourself in the great outdoors and commune with nature. Take a cruise on Lake Periyar, the best way to unobtrusively spot the elephants and deer as they come down to drink the water, or cycle, walk or ride. This is your chance to safely and peacefully observe the myriad species of Kerala with space and peace to truly savour this unique and unspoilt environment.
Your chauffeur will take you to Alleppey where a traditional Keralan houseboat awaits you. Cruise the peaceful backwaters amongst the coconut lagoons mingling amongst local people who live beside the water fishing or creating coir crafts. This luxurious vessel will cater for your every need as you drift amongst the paddy fields. Meals are served on deck including dinner under the stars before you retire to your comfortable and beautifully appointed cabin to drift off to sleep to the sounds of native water birds and the gentle lull and movement of the water.
From Alleppey, you will head to the coast at Kovalam, justifiably made famous during the hippy era of the 1960s as a place of paradise, remaining unspoiled after all these years. There are three large beaches at Kovalam divided by rocky outcrops providing distinct bays which you can choose to explore. Lighthouse Beach is the most popular and Samudra the most peaceful and private. Swim in the azure waters of the Arabian sea, sunbathe, play beach cricket or enjoy a calming Indian massage. The beach is well serviced with amenities but they are not overpowering and do not disrupt the gentle ambience of the palm-fringed golden shores. Spend the night in a luxury resort in Kovalam only a short distance from the sea and dine as the sun sets over the waves.
Your taste of paradise draws to a conclusion as your chauffeur returns you to the airport at Cochin after a leisurely breakfast in Kovalam and a final farewell to Kerala.
The distance from Cochin International Airport to Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey, Kovalam and back to COchin International Airport is 744KMs.

When you book a holiday with hotels and taxi together with us we will be able to offer you much lower rates than what you will get directly. As we use carefully handicked drivers who can offer the quality that we ideally want, we dont offer taxi only booking services.
